Now that I have been in the design biz 25 plus years, I think I can confidently say I have my 10,000 hours of practice! And although I have designed hundreds of living rooms, no two are alike. There is a style that is inherently mine as a creative, but my passion is in taking each client’s personality, applying some solid rules and structure, and then the creative spin that makes each room unique!
There’s a new term starting to buzz around the Design Industry for 2023, “Refined Maximalism”, and I find it to be a fun and fresh new way to view an interior space. There is a misconception that Maximalism must mean lots of color, lots of things, busyness, but that is not the true intent in my opinion.
This issue is devoted to health and well-being, and for me, interior and design is an integral part of the wellness equation. According to the Global Wellness Institute: Our homes, communities and environment affect our daily motivations, behaviors and lifestyle and these factors determine 80-90 % of our health outcomes.
